Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that his predecessor, Pep Guardiola, will return to the club for the first time since leaving his role in the summer.

Guardiola stepped down after spending a decade in charge of the Premier League side and is now expected to attend Manchester City’s Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

Maresca said Guardiola would always be welcome at the Etihad Stadium, given his significant contribution to the club during his 10-year tenure.

“It’s a nice feeling, especially for him because this has been his house for 10 years,” Maresca said.

“It’s still his house, for what he has done here.”

Guardiola’s expected return will mark his first visit to the club since his departure, with City set to host PSG in a key European fixture.
