McPherson varsity appoints new bursar

The Management of McPherson University has announced the appointment of Mrs. Aderonke Adeofun as the second Bursar of the institution.

Adeofun’s appointment was contained in a letter dated 26 August, 2024, and signed by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Dr. Babatunde Idowu.

She took over the leadership of the Bursary Unit from her predecessor, Mr Ademola Osanyinro, who was the acting Bursar from 2023, when the first substantive Bursar, Mr Yemi Onilado, completed his two-term tenure. She effectively assumed her new office on Wednesday, 2 October, 2024.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday, October 20, 2024, by the institution’s acting Head of Information and Public Relations, Ehi Emhonyon.

The letter read, “I have the pleasure of informing you that the Board of Trustees of McPherson University at its meeting of August 22, 2024, approved the recommendation of the selection panel of the governing council that you be appointed as the university’s Bursar.”

Adeofun bagged dual Bachelor’s degrees in Zoology from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, in 1987, and Accounting from Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun State, in 2013, respectively. She holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, in 2011.

The new Bursar is an astute administrator who qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000 and became a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in 2012. She is also a chartered member of the Nigerian Institute of Management.

She has vast work experience in both the private and public sectors, spanning over two decades.

Adeofun worked as an Audit Trainee in Muyiwa Bunmi Ogunlela and Co., a firm of Chartered Accountants, in Lagos State, among others.

Beyond her professional experiences, Adeofun is a member of Foursquare Women International.
