Missing younger brother of BB Naija housemates, Gregory Mbadiwe, found

Odera Gregory Mbadiwe, younger brother of former Big Brother Naija housemates, the Mbadiwe twins, has been found safe after being declared missing in Lagos.

In a statement on Thursday, the Lagos State command of the Nigeria Police Force said that Mbadiwe was ‘traced to the Mile 2 area of Lagos State, where he was found hale and hearty, though in a distressed state’.

The Mbadiwe family also announced that the 33-year-old had been ‘located unharmed and has reunited with his loved ones’.

The statement by Greg Mbadiwe further said: ‘With hearts full of gratitude to God, we are overjoyed to announce that Odera has been found safely.

‘We sincerely thank our dear friends, family, and the general public for the swift sharing of information, calls, suggestions, and the outpouring of love and kind assistance that made this possible’.

The family requested privacy as they recover from what they described as a harrowing experience.

Odera was declared missing on Wednesday. He was last seen on Monday, at Idowu Martins Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, driving a black Nissan 350Z convertible.

His disappearance sparked concern across social media, with fans, friends, and celebrities amplifying the appeal for information.

In its statement by its spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police command read: ‘The Lagos State Police Command wishes to inform the public that one Odera Gregory Mbadiwe, ‘m’, aged 32, earlier reported missing and whose case went viral on social media, has been located by police detectives attached to the Lagos State Police Command today, 1st September 2025, at about 8:30 a.m.

‘It was reported to the police that on 1st September 2025, Odera Mbadiwe left his residence at Victoria Island, Lagos, with his father’s vehicle, a Nissan 350Z Convertible, and did not return home. This prompted his family to report him missing at Victoria Island Police Division on 3rd September 2025.

‘A discreet and diligent investigation was promptly ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, into the disappearance of the missing person. Acting on actionable intelligence and with the support of public-spirited individuals, he was traced to the Mile 2 area of Lagos State, where he was found hale and hearty, though in a distressed state. He has since been reunited with his family and is receiving medical attention and proper care. In the course of the investigation, the vehicle was also recovered.

‘Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commends the swift efforts of police operatives and the cooperation of the public, whose useful information led to the discovery of the missing person. He reassures residents that the Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all, and further urges members of the public to promptly report similar cases for immediate police action’.
