The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has advised Nigerian pilgrims to abide by the rules and regulations during this year’s Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
The commission made this disclosure during the 2023 Hajj inaugural flight at the pilgrims’ terminal in Abuja on Thursday.
The ceremony was attended by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Faisal bin Ibrahim Al-Ghamdi and Prof. Ishaq Olanrewaju Oloyede, who represented the Sultan of Sokoto/President General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, and Faisal bin Ibrahim Al-Ghamdi.
The Holy Pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia (Mecca and Medinah) is the fifth pillar of Islamic religion.
NAHCON Chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan who addressed the pilgrims said that all Nigerian pilgrims travelling for the Hajj exercise are ambassadors of the country.
“Let me seize this opportunity to implore our pilgrims to be good representatives of Nigeria by abiding by the rules and regulations of our host country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, he said.
