The National President of the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) Aàrẹ Oluwafemi Ajayi, on Friday, joined the entourage of Governor Dapo Abiodun to commission Obalende Road and Osinubi New Road in Ijebu-Ode.
The governor joined Ajayi (popularly called FM Castro) and other students in chanting victory songs (aluta) to add colour to the ceremony.
Ajayi described Abiodun’s recognition of the students leadership as symbolic, energising, adding that the commissioned road would be impactful for students, easing movement to classes and making academic life less stressful.
He congratulated the governor on his honorary doctorate degree from Tai Solarin Federal University of Education and the handing over of the institution to the Federal Government, describing it as a proud achievement for the state.
The NAOSS President assured that his team and members would remain focused and not be distracted in supporting the administration, stressing that the students body is moving with clear direction and that the dark days are gone
He further said: ‘To Ogun State students everywhere: stay confident and focused. Do not be distracted. We are moving with clear direction and results. The dark days are behind us, and our future is bright and secure. The entire NAOSS National Executive Council sincerely appreciates our students, senators, and stakeholders across the country for their trust and support.
‘This is only the beginning. We are building something bigger, stronger, and lasting. With full confidence in the mandate you have given me, I remain committed to leading NAOSS National to greater heights and protecting the pride of every Ogun student’..
The governor expressed his happiness at the massive turnout of students and reaffirmed his readiness to continue supporting NAOSS under Ajayi’s leadership.
