The Deputy Campaign Spokesperson of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Sam Omale, has dismissed concerns about the health of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, insisting that he is in good health but experiencing exhaustion due to his demanding schedule.

Omale made the clarification during an interview, explaining that Obi’s frequent travels and packed political engagements had left him physically tired.

According to him, the former Anambra State governor remains deeply committed to his political activities and often handles several responsibilities simultaneously, leaving him with little time to rest.

He described Obi’s movement between different locations as demanding, citing his ability to travel from London to Enugu within a short period.

“Sometimes I wonder where he gets his energy from. He is in London today and the following morning in Enugu. I’m wondering how he does it. Exhaustion comes in; he is a human being,” Omale said.

The NDC spokesperson, however, maintained that there was no medical problem affecting the presidential candidate, adding that members of his team were encouraging him to slow down and get enough sleep.

“He is in perfect health. There’s nothing wrong with him. It’s just exhaustion, and we are trying to calm him down to take a sleep. He is fine,” he added.

Omale further insisted that Obi’s exhaustion would not disrupt the party’s ongoing campaign activities.
