Ahead of Friday’s House of Representatives’ primary for the 2027 general elections in the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Igbo community in Ejigbo, Lagos State, has declared total support for a leading aspirant in the Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II of Lagos State, Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan (popularly known as KOK) as he intensified consultations across the constituency.
During a courtesy to Eze Alex Nwoye and other leaders of the Igbo community in Ejigbo by Bamigbetan, who is a former Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, a leader of the party in the area, Chief Uju Ofohre commended the aspirant for his consistent support for the Igbo people, describing him as a reliable advocate and preferred candidate for the House of Representatives seat.
She offered prayers for his success, declaring it is ‘KOK’s turn’.
The Public Relations Officer of the Igbo community in Lagos State, Chief John, praised Bamigbetan’s past contributions as LCDA Chairman and pledged the community’s support during the primary election.
The warm reception for the aspirant highlighted the strong relationship he built with the community during his tenure as Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA.
Bamigbetan thanked Eze Nwoye, his wife, and the elders for their hospitality.
He highlighted the long-standing partnership with the Igbo community and reaffirmed his commitment to inclusivity, equity, and non-tribal governance.
He cited his previous interventions on behalf of the community at Ilamoshe and his record of nationalistic leadership.
Bamigbetan expressed confidence in the Igbo community’s continued support as he seeks to represent the federal constituency.
This is the first time Ejigbo LCDA will produce a candidate for the seat.
Receiving the KOK team in his palace, the Ojon of Ejigbo and Ijan Land, Oba Morufu Ojoola, commended Bamigbetan for his outstanding performance in office.
He highlighted KOK’s key contributions as Ejigbo LCDA Chairman to include the liberation and rehabilitation of major link roads in Ejigbo and his role in the construction and rehabilitation of Canoe, NNPC, and Isheri-Ijegun roads.
The monarch also praised Bamigbetan’s commitment to human capital development, noting his empowerment of many Ejigbo indigenes with jobs and his support for the emergence of Ejigbo LCDA’s first indigenous Chairman.
Oba Ojoola highlighted other achievements from Bamigbetan’s tenure and urged him to replicate and surpass them if elected as the next member of the House of Representatives from the constituency.
The royal father also urged all present, especially Ejigbo residents, to collect their Permanent Voter Cards and vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming elections to sustain the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He stressed that good deeds always return to the doer, and reaffirmed his full support for Bamigbetan and the Executive Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Aare Taoheed Taiwo, describing both of them as his sons.
Bamigbetan thanked the monarch for his unwavering support since settling in Ejigbo. He acknowledged his pivotal role in encouraging him to contest and later emerge as Ejigbo LCDA Chairman.
