NDC disowns primary election results, summons NEC meeting

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has disowned widely results of its primary elections held across the country on Thursday and Friday.

In a statement on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Osa Director, said that only its National Executive Council (NEC) is solely responsible for announcements of results.

He said that, on the order of the NDC National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, ‘a NEC meeting of the party has been called’.

Director added: ‘Therefore, all members of NEC are to arrive at Abuja for a pre-NEC meeting on Tuesday, 2 June, while the NEC meeting will be held on Wednesday, 3 June 2026’.

He advised the public ‘to disregard the various results circulating on social media as the outcome of the national wide primaries conducted by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on the 28 and 29 May 2026’.
