The newly elected President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku assumed duty at the National Secretariat of the Institute in Abuja on Monday. He was elected as the 15th President of the NIPR over the weekend at the Annual General Meeting in the Federal Capital Territory.

Neliaku was received by the Registrar, Uzoma Onyegbadue, who showed him around the secretariat and introduced the employees to him.

He thereafter held a meeting with the members of staff, seeking to know their roles and challenges. Each of the staff took their turns to address the President about their roles and the challenges.

Responding, the President thanked the staff for their commitment and hard work which, he said, had helped the institute so far.

But he announced that a new dawn had been birthed with his emergence, adding that the implication of that would demand a new approach and attitude towards work.

He promised to enhance their work environment and ensure regular training to better prepare them for efficient service delivery.

The NIPR President noted that they must be very responsive to the communications needs of members, in order to prevent frequent complaints by members.

He promised that he would make the acquisition of a befitting secretariat a top priority of his administration.

Neliaku  was accompanied to the meeting by another Council member, Comrade Ini Ememobong.
