Nigerians react as Wizkid announces a joint tour with Davido

Ayo Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, a Grammy Award winner, has revealed that later this year, he will be going on tour with David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido.

Wizkid made the announcement which threw music fans into a frenzy via insta story on his verified Instagram handle on Wednesday.

He also hinted that the tour would take place after the tour of his fifth studio album, ‘More Love Less Ego’, and charged fans to save up for the tour.

The post read, “After my MLLE tour!! Davido and I going on tour! Save your coins! I no one hear pim”!!

Reacting, a fan of the sensational music artistes, Farouq Yahaya, in a post on Twitter, expressed excitement about the development.

“This Wizkid and Davido tour announcement is huge! Big Wiz and OBO together? Not even on a song! A whole tour”, Yahaya wrote.

Another Twitter user, identified only as Chimaobi, said: “Wizkid announced he is taking Davido on tour. This should tell you that friendship is the key to building a life”.

Another Twitter user, identified simply as Olamide, while describing the music duo as Afrobeats legends, said the tour would shake the world.

Using her handle, @olamideofficial, she wrote, “Wizkid and Davido’s tour? The world will feel this one. Afrobeats legends taking the world by storm”.

However, comedian, Freedom Atsepoyi, aka Mr. Jollof, while reacting to the development, said Wizkid should have gone on tour with Davido when the ovation was loud.

He said: “Wizkid, no disrespect but you going on a tour with Davido, I think you have lost it. You should have gone on a tour when the ovation was high. It is Davido that owns the market. It seems like you are perching on Davido’s wings to fly. That is just it”.
