Following an impressive showing at the recently concluded All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) primary elections, a former aspirant for Njikọka 1 constituency of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Ozumba, has unveiled Emeka Ozumba – Maka Ọdimma Anyị!
As explained by the political communications strategist, Emeka Ozumba – Maka Ọdimma Anyi is a people-first political movement primed to hold leaders accountable and ensure the delivery of progress to the people.
The launch was held at St. Francis Catholic Church field, Urunnebo, Enugwu-Ukwu in Anambra State shortly after a Thanksgiving Mass on Sunday.
At the brief ceremony, Ozumba said the political structure aims to make representation at every level work for the people.
He explained that making leaders accountable requires verifiable action, including checks to ensure every promise is fulfilled with physical evidence: photos, documents, and reports.
According to Ozumba, the organisation would push to turn constituency challenges and pain points into bills and advocacy to ensure adequate attention is paid to rural roads, erosion, schools, healthcare, and job creation.
Also on the agenda for Maka Ọdimma Anyị is the promotion of open and accessible leadership through Know-Your-Leader forums, regular town halls, and honest reports. The movement will also institutionalise integrity by stopping waste and promoting a culture of service without excuses, Ozumba further said.
He believes that the collective action driven by the Maka Ọdimma Anyị structure would keep political actors focused on the agenda, track projects, and prepare the next generation of leaders from Njikọka and across Anambra State and beyond.
In his homily, the lead celebrant, Rev. Fr. Jude Ozumba, called on the faithful to appreciate the solemnity of the Blessed Trinity being commemorated by the church, stressing that no human can fathom its mystery.
He cited St. Augustine’s quest to understand the mystery and urged steadfast adherence to the teachings of the church.
After the Mass, the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Val Uzoezie, exhorted Catholic faithful to avoid divisive politics and actions that create enmity.
He thanked the politician for bringing supporters, friends, and well-wishers to thank God after his recent aspiration for the ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Uzoezie praised Ozumba for maintaining humility and selflessness in politics, noting he has a bright future ahead.
In a vote of thanks, the Odu Nkata Ukwu of Enugwu-Ukwu, Chief Clement Nwafor, said that Ozumba is living up to the true Christian principle of giving thanks to God in all situations, whether good or bad.
He stated that God was indeed in control throughout the rigorous campaign process, which involved constant travel lasting into the night and early morning, and was therefore deserving of all praise.
Sir Nwafor thanked APGA faithful who voted for Ozumba and those who did not, and called for unity of purpose to ensure success at the main elections.
