The Nigeria National League (NNL) is set to announce the kick-off date for the 2026/27 season at the conclusion of its Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 21, in Owerri, Imo State, and will provide an opportunity for participating clubs to deliberate on plans for the new campaign.
Key issues expected to feature at the AGM include the roadmap for the 2026/27 season, club licensing regulations, as well as possible reviews and amendments to the NNL rules.
The 2025/26 NNL season concluded in June, with Sporting Lagos, Doma United, Inter Lagos and Ranchers Bees securing promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Sporting Lagos emerged as champions after finishing top of the NNL playoff held in Ikenne.
The forthcoming AGM is therefore expected to provide greater clarity on the structure, regulations and commencement date of the new NNL season.
