Nnobi’s Ifite Ogbeadiji Ebenesi community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State has hosted its first-ever cultural carnival, a landmark event praised for its celebration of the town’s rich cultural heritage. The carnival, held at St. Theresa’s field, was a vibrant showcase of the community’s traditions, drawing participants and visitors from neighboring towns and the diaspora.

The event was spearheaded by High Chief Hamilton Emeka Ezeonu, popularly known as Ikemba Nnobi, who fully funded the carnival to promote unity and tourism. Chief Ezeonu’s efforts have been widely celebrated for their role in revitalizing the socio-cultural identity of Nnobi while fostering tourism in the state.

The carnival featured traditional dances, music, and artistic displays, emphasizing the importance of cultural preservation in the face of modernization.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo, represented at the event, commended the community for its contribution to the state’s tourism ambitions. He noted that events like these not only preserve local heritage but also position Anambra State as a cultural hub.

Beyond the carnival, High Chief Ezeonu has been instrumental in the community’s development, initiating projects such as road construction, hospital renovations, and youth and women empowerment programs. His leadership and philanthropy have earned him the prestigious title of Ikemba Nnobi and widespread admiration among residents.

This inaugural cultural carnival is seen as a stepping stone for Nnobi’s emergence as a key player in the cultural and tourism sectors of Anambra State, with hopes for it to become an annual tradition that continues to unite the community and attract visitors worldwide.
