Nollywood actress Mosun Filani has explained that she took a long break from acting to focus on her family and raise her children.
The actress made this known during an interview with BBC Yoruba, where she said her children are now grown and independent, giving her the opportunity to return to the entertainment industry.
Filani said she deliberately stepped away from acting after getting married so she could devote more time to her family.
“I stopped acting to focus on my family. My kids are grown; they know left from right, and it’s time for me to get back to acting,” she said.
The actress also addressed speculation surrounding her marriage, particularly claims that she is a second wife.
Filani dismissed the claim, explaining that although her husband may have been married previously, she did not meet him while he was still living with another wife.
“I’m not a second wife; my husband might’ve had a marriage before, but I didn’t meet anyone in his house,” she clarified.
Filani began her acting career in the 2000s and has featured in several Yoruba and English-language films.
Her credits include Jenifa, Iku Ewa, Aje Metta and Different Strokes.
She also produced and starred in Different Strokes, which was released in 2023.
With her children now grown, the actress has indicated that she is ready to devote more time to acting and continue her career in Nollywood.
