In anticipation of the inaugural digital Population and Housing Census, the chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon Nasir Isa Kwarra, has lauded the progress made in the construction of the NPC Disaster Recovery Centre Annex in Kaduna State.
Kwarra, who led a delegation to the project site, stressed the imperative of adhering to job specifications by the contractor.
In the delegation were the federal commissioner for Kaduna State, Mrs Saadatu Garba Dogonbauchi, her Akwa Ibom State counterpart, Chief Benedict Ukpong and chairman of the NPC Headquarters Building Committee, among others.
The team evaluated the NPC Kaduna State Office, with a focus on the condition of non-sensitive census materials stored therein.
In discussions with staff and management, Kwarra reiterated the commission’s dedication to bolstering the capacity and welfare of its personnel.
He urged them to uphold good conduct and pursue excellence in fulfilling the commission’s mandate of furnishing vital demographic data for national planning.
Kwarra said, “The inspection underscores the NPC’s proactive stance in ensuring the success of the impending digital census and underscores endeavours to fortify infrastructure and personnel preparedness nationwide”.
