The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will conduct the fixtures draw for the 2026/27 season during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday.

The AGM serves as the league’s annual business meeting, bringing together the NPFL Board and club representatives to review the previous campaign and approve key policies and plans for the new season.

The fixture draw, which traditionally marks the formal build-up to a new campaign, will determine the schedule for clubs ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Under the leadership of NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye, the league has maintained a consistent football calendar over the past four seasons, with each campaign beginning in August and ending in May.

Reflecting on the progress made, Elegbeleye said one of the league’s most significant achievements has been the establishment of a predictable schedule since the 2023/24 season.

He noted that the stable calendar represents a major improvement from previous years, when uncertainty over the completion of league campaigns often disrupted planning for clubs, players and other stakeholders.

The 2026/27 fixture draw is expected to provide clubs with the roadmap for the new season as preparations intensify ahead of the opening round of matches.
