GTI is the strategic partner to the NPFL.

At a media session in Lagos, Lawal gave kudos to the sporting press for the massive publicity they gave to the tourney and thanked the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the NPFL, led by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye for doing a great job throughout the duration of the playoff.

“I must thank the Nigerian sporting press for rising to the occasion by giving massive publicity to the just concluded NPFL Championship Play-offs and the great commitment made by the IMC to the event.

“Therefore, I want to use this golden opportunity to thank gentlemen of the press for doing a wonderful job by giving our league the required visibility and mileage globally. And for us at GTI, this is a new dawn for our beautiful game. I want to assure our fans and stakeholders that we shall improve in any area we may have been found wanting come next season”, he began.

He reiterated the assurance he gave newsmen during the commencement of the abridged league season that his company is all out to help the Nigeria football league body achieve a strong and transparent football ecosystem in the country using the Nigeria Football Fund (TNFF) as a vehicle to attaining the laudable dream. Lawal restated that the company was employing every best international practice to give Nigerian football a desirable breakthrough that will enable it compete with the best football leagues in the world.

“We at GTI will continue to commit lots of material and financial resources toward ensuring that NPFL enjoys robust financial support in order to become self-sustaining with necessary measures to ensure transparency in all its dealings with investors, sponsors and other partners. We are proud to associate with the IMC/NPFL in the execution of this project and we hope Nigerian football will grow from strength to strength going forward”, he added.

He congratulated Enyimba for winning the 2022/2023 NPFL trophy alongside N100 million prize money, describing the People’s Elephant as worthy champions.
