Nigeria Premier League (NPL) Board and the 20 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs have scheduled the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Tuesday, 29th August in Abuja.
In a notice of the AGM to all the clubs, NPL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi explained that the meeting would allow for an effective organisation of the 2023/24 season activities.
The notice also stated that the draw for season would still hold on the same date as the AGM in Abuja.
The clubs were reminded that players registration, which commenced earlier, would continue. They were urged to use the available window before kickoff to complete the documentation process for their squad.
This will be the first AGM between the clubs and the new NPL Board, headed by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, after its inauguration.
Last week, the Board set up a Technical Committee for the selection of NPFL Team of the Month, and ultimately an All-star team that would go on a tour of Spain at the instance of a top LaLiga club.
Inaugurating the nine-member committee, Elegbeleye said that it could help the Nigeria Football Federation have a nucleus of the national team (Super Eagles B) for the next African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The Super Eagles B last qualified for the CHAN in 2018 in Morocco where they got to the final before losing 0-4 to the hosts. They have played in only three editions of the seven held.
