Former champions and south-south giants Delta Queens and Rivers Angels will face off in a high-profile match-day four game of the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League season just as reigning champions Edo Queens hope to continue their fine form against Dannaz Ladies in Lagos on Wednesday.

Both teams come into the fixture on the back of contrasting results with Rivers Angels enjoying the best run of form having won two games and drawn one while Delta Queens have won just one and lost two of their opening three matches,

Rivers Angels are joint-top in Group B with seven points, just goal difference separating them from Bayelsa Queens who face Adamawa Queens today as well.

Delta Queens are currently sixth in the group and will hope to revive their campaign as early as possible with a win.

Meanwhile, Group A leaders and reigning champions Edo Queens landed in Lagos on Monday for the week four fixture where they will take on Dannaz Ladies.

Moses Aduku’s side are said to be in high spirits for this encounter, following their 1-1 draw against Remo Stars Ladies the last time out in Benin.

Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission Desmond Enabulele has also charged the Benin City girls to maintain the spirit of winning.

‘I want you to go to Lagos and conquer. Keep that winning mentality on, we have confidence in you girls. Go there and do us proud again. I like to inform you that all logistics needed for you to do well have been provided. We are behind you and will continue to motivate you. It will be our joy to see Edo Queens players playing top flight football in various clubs in Europe’.

After the Lagos game Edo Queens will return home to play Nasarawa Amazons FC of Lafia.
