The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has emerged top among federal ministries, departments, and agencies with sustainable ICT infrastructure and has accordingly been awarded the prestigious “Nigeria GovTech Awards” for Best Federal MDA in Sustainable ICT Infrastructure.
The award was presented to the NYSC during the 2023 Nigeria GovTech Awards, held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja. A well-deserved recognition was also accorded to the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed, as the “Distinguished Govtech Trailblazer.”
The nominations and eventual awards were the products of a transparent and objective nationwide online voting process initiated on radio, television, and newspaper publications, coordinated by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms in the Presidency.
NYSC’s Director General, Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed, who was represented by the Director of Information and Communication Technology, Mrs Christy Uba, expressed appreciation for the honours, describing the awards as a clear endorsement and appreciation of the sustainable improvement in the IT services rendered by NYSC to its stakeholders and the general public.
Ahmed added that NYSC would continue to leverage the deployment of ICT tools in the discharge of its operations in line with global best practices.
