For the third consecutive term, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has been elected as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The highest ranking member of the House having first been first elected in 2007, Obasa was re-elected on Tuesday as Speaker unopposed after the proclamation of the state’s 10th assembly by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The lawmaker representing Agege constituency I was nominated by Hon. Temitope Adewale, member representing Ifako-Ijaiye constituency I.
Hon. Mojisola Meranda was elected as the Deputy Speaker.
Immediate past Deputy Majority Leader, hon. Noheem Adams was elected Majority Leader, while Hon. Adedamola Kasunmu was elected the Deputy Majority Leader.
Hon. Mojeed Fatai was elected as Chief Whip, while Hon. David Setonji was elected the Deputy Chief Whip.
