The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the top 10 performers in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The candidates, who have demonstrated exceptional academic prowess, hail from Anambra, Ogun, Edo, Lagos, Imo and Kwara States.
Kamsiyochukwu Nkechinyere Umeh, who hails from Anambra State, emerged the No. 1 with 360 out of 400 points. She intends to Chemical Engineering at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Five other top candidates chose UNILAG as first choice institution. They are: Oluwafemi Anthony Ositade (No. 3, Computer Engineering), Gbolahan Azeem Ayinde (No. 4, Computer Engineering), John Fulfilment Ibhanfiodon (No. 5, Computer Engineering), Duruji Chimdubem Ugonna (No. 6, Computer Engineering), Enoch Oluwagbemisoke Afenisumen (No. 9, Chemical Engineering).
The other institutions of choice among the top 10 are: University of Benin with Aguele Stephen Osezuha, who came second overall applying to study Computer Engineering; Covenant University (Jermaine Oluwajomiloju Adesanya, No 7, Computer Science); Federal University of Technology, Akure (Priscilla Adedunni Shittu, No. 8, Computer Engineering) and University of Ibadan (Adetunji Victor Adewale, No. 10, Electrical/Electronic Engineering).
Ogun and Edo States each has three candidates in the top 10. The remaining states are Anambra (1), Lagos (1), Imo (1) and Kwara (1).
