Galatasaray have received a major boost ahead of their Turkish Süper Lig clash with Kasımpaşa after Victor Osimhen returned to partial team training.

The Super Eagles forward, who has been sidelined with a groin injury, joined his teammates for part of Tuesday’s training session at the Kemerburgaz Metin Oktay Facilities under head coach Okan Buruk.

Osimhen took part in the opening stages of the session before switching to an individual programme prepared by Galatasaray’s medical team as he continues his recovery.

The training began with a dynamic warm-up, followed by 8v2 passing drills in three groups. The players then worked on possession exercises before finishing with a small-sided game.

Midfielder Mario Lemina and goalkeeper Günay Güvenç took part in the full session with the rest of the squad, while Wilfried Singo and Roland Sallai continued their rehabilitation programmes separately.

Osimhen’s gradual return represents an encouraging development for Galatasaray, although the club is expected to remain cautious as the striker works towards full fitness.

The 27-year-old is being assessed with a possible return against Kasımpaşa at RAMS Park on Friday, 9 October, in mind. Galatasaray will then host Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, 13 October.

Galatasaray’s official training report confirmed that Osimhen participated in part of the team session before continuing with an individual programme, with another training session scheduled for Wednesday at 5pm.

The striker’s return to partial training could provide a timely boost for the Turkish champions as they prepare for two demanding fixtures within four days.
