Nigeria international Victor Osimhen is set to be named captain of Galatasaray following the departure of Mauro Icardi.
Icardi left the Turkish Super Lig champions after the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to his four-year spell at the Istanbul club. His departure was announced earlier this week.
The 33-year-old Argentine won four Turkish Super Lig titles during his time at Galatasaray and captained the side in recent seasons.
Osimhen, who served as the club’s vice-captain last season, is now expected to assume the captaincy.
The 27-year-old striker has played a key role under manager Okan Buruk, helping Galatasaray secure successive Turkish Super Lig titles.
