Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has collected his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His spokesman, Laolu Akande said on Thursday that the forms were collected by representatives of Osinbajo’s support groups.
Akande said: “A passionate team of support groups and individual Nigerians from across the country have raised funds to support the purchase of APC nomination forms for the Vice President’s 2023 presidential bid.
“Today, the forms are being collected by representatives of the team, just as the VP continues his interactions with APC stakeholders across the States. Today, VP Osinbajo is in Cross River and Bayelsa States”.
The APC Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms cost N100 million.
At least 15 Nigerians of southern extractions have joined the 2023 presidential race in the ruling APC.
They include the Governors of Ekiti, Ebonyi and Cross River States, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Engr. Dave Umahi and Prof. Ben Ayade respectively; former Governors Bola Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Rochas Okorocha, Rotimi Amaechi, Adams Oshiomhole, Ibikunle Amosun and Godswill Akpabio of Lagos, Imo, Rivers, Edo, Ogun and Akwa Ibom States respectively; former Senate President Ken Nnamani; and Ministers Chris Ngige and Emeka Nwajuiba; a well as famous Pastor, Tunde Bakare.
The APC presidential primary is scheduled for 30th May in Abuja
