Oyetola, Ooni, others to grace coronation of Modakeke monarch 3rd November

The coronation and presentation of the staff of office to the new Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, Ajibise Ogo 1, will hold at the Modakeke Civic Centre on Thursday, 3rd November.

The landmark royal event will be performed by Osun State Governor, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola supported by members of the state Executive Council.

According to a statement by the Ogunsua Palace Media Committee, signed by Chief Adedayo Ojo, the Royal Father of the Day and Chief Host of the Coronation, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, will lead other royal fathers and traditional rulers from across the country to the historic event.

Oba Toriola, who will be crowned as the 20th Ogunsua, had been in the line to the throne for 43 years. He succeeded Oba Moses Oyediran of the Ajombadi family who joined his ancestors a few months ago.

Reacting to the news, Oba Toriola expressed gratitude to God for His grace upon him, his family and the entire Modakeke community.

The elated Kabiyesi also thanked Governor Oyetola for his approval of the recommendation of the chiefs, while applauding the Ooni of Ife, who is the consenting authority.

Oba Toriola acknowledged the  co-operation of Modakeke palace chiefs, the leadership of the Modakeke Progressives Union and the entire community at home and in the Diaspora.

The Ogunsua said: “I am elated with the news of my coronation and presentation of my Staff of Office by the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola who is a lover of our community.

“To God be the glory for the good news which is a source of collective joy as we have all been looking forward to it.

“May God Almighty continue to guide us, protect us and provide us with the necessary wherewithal to make the occasion a grand one”.
