The Accord Party has dissolved its executive committee in Oyo state with immediate effect.

This is coming following the announcement by the party chairman in the state, Prince Kolade Ojo, that the party has adopted the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Seyi Makinde.

In a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and signed by the National Chairman, Hon Muhammed L. Nalado on Wednesday, the party said that the dissolution was due to anti-party activities and gross misconduct by the members of the executive committee in the state.

According to the letter, Alhaji Isiaka Salami will serve as the Caretaker Chairman, while Mr Bashiru Ayobami will serve as the Secretary.

Other members are: Hon. Fatai Salawu, Mrs Bimpe Martins and Hon. Ayodele Oyajide.

The letter reads: “We wish to bring to the knowledge of the Commission that the State Executives of our great party ‘ACCORD’ Oyo State Chapter has been dissolved with immediate effect due to Anti-Party Activities and Gross misconduct by the State Excos.

“This decision was taken during an emergency National Working Committee (NWC) meeting of our great party held on the 8th March, 2023 at the National Secretariat Abuja.
