The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in last Saturday’s Anambra State governorship election, Chief Jude Ezenwafor has said that he is prepared to work with Governor Chukwuma Soludo to support the ongoing development efforts in the state.

Soludo was re-elected for a second term in office. He was the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

Ezenwafor, who spoke on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, said that his relationship with Soludo predates the election, noting that they had maintained a cordial personal and professional association over the years.

He explained that cooperation, rather than political rivalry, would better serve the interest of Anambra residents.

According to him, he played a role in encouraging Soludo to join the state’s political leadership in the past, particularly during his time as Senior Special Assistant to the then Governor Willie Obiano, adding that his past involvement reflects his commitment to the state’s progress rather than party lines.

The PDP candidate acknowledged that no administration is without criticism but praised the state government’s efforts in addressing security challenges.

He urged the governor to deepen collaboration among security agencies and stakeholders to improve safety in communities.

Ezenwafor stressed the need for inclusivity in governance and advised the Soludo administration to continue working with diverse political interests to sustain stability and growth.

He said that unity among political actors would strengthen public confidence and encourage broader participation in development initiatives.

Ezenwafor reaffirmed that governance should remain the priority now that the election is over, adding that the state stands to benefit more when leaders work together toward shared goals.
