Popular content creator and streamer Peller has revealed that some of the dollar notes sprayed on him during his traditional wedding were counterfeit.
The TikToker made the disclosure during a livestream with one of his American supporters, recounting how he was shocked after taking some of the foreign currency to a bank.
According to Peller, he initially believed the large amount of dollars sprayed on him during his wedding celebration had made him wealthy overnight. He said he even recorded a video with the money before visiting the bank.
However, the content creator said his excitement was cut short when he was informed that some of the notes were fake.
“When I got to the bank, they told me the dollars were fake. People that gave me real money, I know them if I see them. They gave me fake dollars,” he said.
Peller described the discovery as a rude awakening after returning from his wedding to his wife, Jarvis, believing he had received a substantial amount of money.
“I got home after my wedding thinking I was a millionaire already. I used the money to make a video, saying, ‘Hello, thinking I am rich,’ but it was fake,” he added.
The content creator said he had deliberately stopped talking about the dollar notes after discovering that some of them were counterfeit.
“You people did not notice I did not talk about the dollars again since last night. Is it by force to spray money?” he said.
The revelation has since generated reactions online, with social media users discussing the practice of spraying foreign currencies at celebrations and the risks associated with counterfeit notes.
