Peseiro releases Super Eagles squad for friendlies

Coach Jose Santos Peseiro has named the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming international friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique in Portugal.

Defenders Kenneth Omeruo and Bright Osayi-Samuel, midfielder Alex Iwobi, and forward Terem Moffi have been recalled to the squad while Fisayo Dele-Bashiru gets his first-ever invitation, and goalkeepers Francis Uzoho, Adebayo Adeleye, and Olorunleke Ojo were retained.

The Super Eagles will face the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia on 13 October 2023, in Portimão, Portugal, followed by a clash with the Mambas of Mozambique three days later.

These matches are part of the team’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

The squad includes:

Goalkeepers: Francis Uzoho, Olorunleke Ojo and Adebayo Adeleye.

Defenders: Olaoluwa Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Jordan Torunarigha, Kenneth Omeruo, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Jamilu Collins, and Bruno Onyemaechi

Midfielders: Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, Joe Ayodele-Aribo, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru

Forwards: Kelechi Iheanacho, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Terem Moffi, and Victor Boniface.
