Chairman of the Jama’tul Nasri Islam (JNI), Plateau State and emir of Wase, Alhaji Muhammadu Sambo Haruna, has expressed gratitude to Governor Caleb Mutfwang for supporting the Muslim community in the state.

He said 70 per cent of road rehabilitation and repairs in the Jos metropolis were within the Muslim community.

Haruna spoke when the Muslim Ummah in the state joined Mutfwang at the New Government House in Little Rayfield, Jos to break their Ramadan fast.

The emir dispelled the rumour that the governor was against Muslims, citing Mutfwang’s efforts to develop the Muslim community in less than a year, surpassing the achievements of previous administrations.

He urged the Muslim Ummah to support the administration for the peace, unity, and progress of Plateau and the greater good of the Ummah.

Similarly, the emir of Keffi, Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa and the emir of Borgu, Alhaji Muhammed Sani Haliru in their separate remarks, applauded Mutfwang over his commitment to justice, fairness and inclusive governance in the state.

The duo prayed to God for the governor to be endowed with more wisdom, knowledge and strength to further elevate Plateau, citing evidence of a promising start and urging citizens’ support for the administration.

In his address, Mutfwang emphasised the significance of the gathering in fostering mutual understanding, strengthening bonds of brotherhood, and collectively working towards a peaceful, united, and prosperous Plateau.

He underscored the importance of transcending differences in faith, ethnicity, or status to combat the common challenges facing the state, emphasizing that decades of violence have benefitted no one. He called for a return to the spirit of love and brotherhood practised in the past.

The governor expressed gratitude to the emir of Keffi, His Royal Highness Alh. Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa, the emir of Borgu, Alh. Muhammed Sani Haliru, and other Islamic leaders for their presence at the event, noting that their participation will help to foster cohesion and enduring friendships across divides.
