The police in Jigawa State have arrested one Alassan Sabo, for allegedly fabricating and selling firearms to hoodlums.
In a statement on Monday, spokesman of the command, Deputy Superintendent Lawan Shiisu Adam said operatives attached to the Department of State Services, Jigawa State Command, while acting on a tip-off, raided a blacksmith workshop at Garin Gabas Market, in Malam Madori LGA.
He said the suspect is strongly believed to have been supplying firearms to hoodlums to carry out their nefarious activities.

The suspects confessed that the workshop was established about two months ago, and his younger brother,Haladu, now at large, is responsible for fabricating the local weapons while he is responsible for their disposal.
He, however, mentioned seven people to have purchased the locally made pistols.
He said: “Investigation into the case is in top gear to apprehend all persons mentioned for interrogation and possible prosecution”.
