Real Madrid have been handed a major injury boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League second leg playoff with Manchester City on Wednesday.

This comes as defender Antonio Rudiger returned to the Los Blancos’ first-team training on Monday ahead of the City clash at the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Germany international is ready to face Pep Guardiola’s side after his injury.

‘Toni Rüdiger, back in training with Real Madrid first team after his injury and ready to face Man City’, Romano wrote on X.

It was reported that Rudiger missed the first leg last week at the Etihad Stadium.

The former Chelsea star was diagnosed with a biceps femoris injury in his right leg earlier this month.

It’s yet to be seen if Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti will start Rudiger against City.

Recall that Real Madrid defeated the English Premier League champions 3-2 in the first leg last Tuesday.

Meanwhile , the winner in the two-leg fixtures between Madrid and City will progress to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
