The Rivers State House of Assembly on Friday screened and confirmed the immediate-past Chief of Staff, Government House, Mr Emeka Woke, alongside four others as commissioners-designate.
This was a sequel to a letter forwarding the names to the 32-member legislature by Governor Siminalayi Fubara for screening and confirmation.
Others given a clean bill of health by the lawmakers are the immediate past Commissioner for Social Welfare also under the Wike administration, Mrs Inime Aguma; former Director of Finance and Administration, Niger Delta Development Commission, Henry Ogiri; Nwafor Uchechukwu, and Kenneth Gbali.
As customary in the House, Ogiri, who is a member of the State Assembly, was asked by the lawmakers to take a bow and go.
This is the second set of commissioners so far appointed by Governor Fubara since he was sworn in on 29 May 2023.
