Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated the Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, on his 90th birthday.

In his congratulatory message, Sanwo-Olu described Olusi, who is also the Baba Adini of Yorubaland, as a symbol of loyalty, trust and integrity, noting that the nonagenarian possesses exceptional qualities of wisdom, patience and peacemaking.

The governor recalled his personal relationship with Olusi, saying the elder statesman’s fatherly advice had helped him in discharging his responsibilities and navigating the political landscape.

“Baba has taken me like a son — in fact, I am his political son! He has handheld me, advising me on several occasions on matters of politics and governance. He has done all these with reverence for the office that I occupy. Baba is a rare human being,” Sanwo-Olu said.

He added that Olusi, at 90, remained a repository of political and historical knowledge, particularly regarding the development of Lagos and Nigeria’s Western Region.

According to the governor, Olusi can readily recall events that influenced political decisions, dating from the era of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and the Action Group to the current republic.

Sanwo-Olu also described the APC chieftain as a committed party loyalist who believes in the supremacy of the party and the need for members to respect its decisions.

“As a committed politician, Baba Olusi believes that the party is supreme. He always says that no political group or association can stand the test of time if the party’s decisions are not obeyed by members,” he said.

The governor concluded by praying for Olusi’s continued good health and well-being, extending his birthday wishes on behalf of his family and the people of Lagos State.

“I wish Prince Oluyole Olusi a happy birthday,” Sanwo-Olu said.
