The University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom has said its maiden interschool public speaking competition would increase the knowledge of participating students on sustainability.
This was disclosed by the university’s Regional Representative-Africa, Global Engagement, Mrs. Udochika Ezeocha, in a statement on Friday, adding that the competition which would take place in Lagos on 2 November, would help students develop new skills.
“We are excited about this event as it would provide the participating students the opportunity to develop new skills and increase their knowledge on sustainability as the whole world is facing the impact of climate change.
“It is also an opportunity for students to see firsthand some of the opportunities that the University of Sheffield offers to all students including those from Nigeria. The University of Sheffield is a world-class research university with a global reputation for excellence.
