The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has empowered 200 youths of Imo State in modern Electrical Installations and Maintenance.

Applauding President Bola Tinubu’s focus on job creation and employment in his ‘Renewed Hope Agenda,’ the Executive Vice Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Khalil Halilu, said the agenda of the President had inspired the agency to embark on the five-day comprehensive training in electrical installation, which ended on Saturday in Owerri, Imo State.

According to a statement by NASENI’s Director of Information, Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, it was revealed that the NASENI boss at the closing ceremony, charged the beneficiaries to put the new expertise to diligent use.

Halilu said, “In the 21st century, the significance and value of technical and vocational skills cannot be overemphasised, especially in a developing country like ours. The economic opportunities are limitless, for those who realise the value and commit themselves to learning and re-learning”.

Halilu further said, “President Bola Tinubu’s government’s focus on job creation and youth development aligns perfectly with the goals of NASENI and the programme. As a Federal Agency, he explained, NASENI remains steadfast in its commitment to realising the renewed hope agenda and opportunity for the people”.

On his part, the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, stated that skills acquisition was the way towards getting youths engaged and make them relevant and self-reliant.
