Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan has unveiled new commercial partnerships and confirmed the appointment of experienced coach Salisu Yusuf as Technical Adviser ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The Oluyole Warriors announced partnerships with Kelme, Chowdeck, Bovas and Ideas House as part of efforts to strengthen the club both on and off the pitch.
Speaking at a press conference in Ibadan, the club’s chairman, Mr Lekan Salami, said the initiatives formed part of preparations for what promises to be a demanding domestic and continental campaign.
Shooting Stars finished among the top three teams in the NPFL last season, earning qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup and marking the club’s return to continental competition after more than two decades.
“We are determined to build a stronger and more competitive Shooting Stars team ahead of the new season,” Salami said.
“Our objective is to improve on last season’s performance and ensure that the club competes effectively on both the domestic and continental fronts.”
The Ibadan-based club will begin its CAF Confederation Cup campaign against a Tunisian opponent, with the first leg scheduled to hold in Abeokuta on 5 September and the return leg set for 13 September.
Shooting Stars will also kick off their NPFL campaign on Friday, 28 August, with a home fixture at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Salami appealed to supporters to continue backing the team throughout the season and turn out in large numbers for the opening league match.
Meanwhile, the club has confirmed Salisu Yusuf as its new Technical Adviser.
Salami said Yusuf was appointed because of his experience, knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian football environment, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the team to greater success.
According to the club, Yusuf has already commenced work and introduced fresh ideas and improved training methods, while also helping to boost confidence within the squad.
Shooting Stars also disclosed that it had strengthened its team during the off-season through new player recruitment as it prepares to compete on both the domestic and continental fronts.
Salami expressed optimism that the combination of improved technical leadership, quality additions to the squad and stronger commercial partnerships would help the Oluyole Warriors achieve their ambitions in the 2026/27 season.
