Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship from the PFA Business School, graduating with Merit.

The 28-year-old Coventry City forward announced the achievement on Instagram, describing it as another proud moment away from the football pitch.

“Another proud moment for me off the pitch. 🎓 Graduating from the PFA Business School with a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship with Merit,” Awoniyi wrote.

The Nigeria international said continuing his education was important to him and encouraged footballers to develop their knowledge beyond their playing careers.

“I have always believed that being a footballer shouldn’t stop you from being a student of the game, and education has become an important part of that journey for me,” he added.

Awoniyi thanked the PFA Business School, its lecturers and fellow students for their support during the programme. He also acknowledged his family and friends for encouraging him throughout his studies.

The striker ended his message by reaffirming his commitment to both his education and football career.

“Still playing. Still learning. The journey continues,” he said.

The PFA Business School provides education and professional development programmes for football professionals, with courses covering areas including leadership, management and the business of sport.

Awoniyi’s qualification adds to his preparations for life beyond professional football as he continues his playing career.
