Tinubu appoints SA Senate Matters, SSA Livestock Development, others

President Bola Tinubu, on Saturday, announced several appointments, including Senator Bashir Lado Mohammed as his Special Adviser on Senate Matters.

Mohammed, who represented Kano Central in the eighth Senate, is an experience politician and businessman from Kano State.

He was Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.

The President also named Mr. Idris Ajimobi as Senior Special Assistant on Livestock Development (Office of the President).

The appointment followed the recent inauguration of the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms and the establishment of a new Ministry of Livestock Development.

According to a statement by the presidential spokesman, Chief Aguri Ngelale, President Tinubu “seeks to harness and develop Nigeria’s agricultural potential, including the animal husbandry ecosystem, to spur sustainable economic growth, create industries and jobs, and eradicate violent conflicts between farmers and herders over time”.

In addition, President Tinubu appointed Dr. Mainasara Umar Kogo as the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

He is a seasoned lawyer and analyst in the fields of law, security, economy, politics, and international diplomacy.

The President named Mr. Oluwaseun Faleye as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund.

He is a legal and corporate finance specialist.

President Tinubu also appointed Mrs. Mojisolaoluwa Kehinde Alli-Macaulay as NSITF’s Executive Director (Operations) of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund.

She is a former lawmaker and former Chairperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs, Poverty Alleviation, and Job Creation.

Also appointed by the President is Mr. Jobson Ewalefoh as the new Director-General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission.

Ewalefoh is a professional with years of experience in government and development organisations, in addition to expertise in public-private partnerships, public policy reform and development.

The appointment is subject to the confirmation of the Senate.

President Tinubu also named Ms. Omolola Bridget Oloworaran as the new Director-General of the National Pension Commission.

She is a finance and banking expert with many years of experience.

The appointment is subject to the confirmation of the Senate.

The National Directorate of Employment also has a new Director-General. Mr. Silas Agara is an entrepreneur and sports administrator who previously served as the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State

The Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund is Mr. Tosin Adeyanju. He is described an accomplished administrator, and good governance advocate.

President Tinubu also appointed Mr. Umar Ibrahim Mohammed as the Director-General of the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA).

He is an architect, and also, a construction technology and environment professional.
