Tinubu congratulates Victoria Gowon on 80th birthday
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Dr Victoria Gowon, wife of former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, on her 80th birthday.
Tinubu described the celebrant as a woman of grace, compassion and selfless service whose contributions have positively impacted Nigerian society.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended Victoria Gowon for the support she gave her husband during his time as Head of State, particularly during a challenging period in Nigeria’s history.
Tinubu described her as a devoted wife, compassionate nurse and a source of strength and inspiration to many.
He noted that she had, in her own way, contributed to national development and promoted values that foster unity within families, communities and the country.
“Reaching the age of 80 is a significant milestone deserving of gratitude to Almighty God for His grace, preservation and abundant blessings,” the President said.
“On behalf of my family, the Government and people of Nigeria, I warmly congratulate you on your birthday.”
Tinubu prayed for continued good health, wisdom, strength, peace and happiness for Victoria Gowon, and wished her many more years of fulfilment.
