President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Governor of Katsina State, Dr Dikko Umar Radda, on his 57th birthday.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described Radda as a committed progressive, seasoned economist and grassroots administrator whose record of public service continues to inspire young Nigerians.
The President noted that since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Radda had demonstrated courage, focus and empathy in addressing some of Katsina State’s most pressing challenges, particularly insecurity and education.
Tinubu described the governor, a former chairman of Charanchi Local Government Area, former Chief of Staff at the Katsina Government House and former Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), as an example of how grassroots knowledge and technocratic expertise could combine to deliver transformative leadership.
The President said Radda’s approach to governance, particularly his consultations across the state’s 361 wards, had demonstrated his commitment to inclusive administration.
“Governor Radda has shown that leadership is about listening to the people. By taking budget consultations to all 361 wards of Katsina State and ensuring that every ward chooses its priority project, he has redefined inclusive governance.
“His investment in security, in education as a weapon against poverty and insecurity, and in agriculture as the mainstay of his people, aligns perfectly with our Renewed Hope Agenda,” Tinubu said.
The President prayed for Radda to enjoy many more years in good health, wisdom and strength as he continues to serve the people of Katsina State and Nigeria.
He also urged the governor to remain committed to promoting peace, development and the welfare of vulnerable members of society.
