Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned on Thursday evening to the country from the United Kingdom.
He has been away for 12 days.
“After days of intensive political consultations and meetings in London, our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is expected back in Abuja, later today”, presidential spokesperson, Bashir Ahmad, tweeted.
On Wednesday, the spokesman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Barrister Festus Keyamo also said that Tinubu would soon be back in the country.
“I know he would be back in a couple of days. I have that information. I don’t know the particular day,” Keyamo said on Channels Television’s Politics Today. “I can’t say Friday or Saturday but I know he would be back in a couple of days”.
Tinubu’s visit to the UK has made headlines in recent times.
Critics claim his absence when political campaigns have kickstarted suggests there might be issues bordering on health.
Tinubu was received by a delegation led by his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima, former APC chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and others.
He alighted from the plane that conveyed him to a shout of ‘’Jagaban’’ and ‘’Asiwaju’’ in a video shared by Keyamo.
