The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has described the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration as unmatched in Nigeria’s recent history, urging members of the City Boy Movement to intensify grassroots campaigns highlighting the government’s reforms and accomplishments.

Akume made the remarks on Thursday in Abuja while receiving a delegation of the City Boy Movement led by its Director-General, Oluwatosin Shoga.

According to the SGF, the Tinubu administration inherited a fragile economy but has made significant progress through the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said several abandoned infrastructure projects have been revived, while roads, universities, schools, power projects and dams spread across the country’s six geopolitical zones are now ready for commissioning.

In a statement issued by the Head of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the SGF, Chris Ugwuegbulam, Akume identified the recovery of Nigeria’s foreign reserves as one of the administration’s most significant achievements.

“This government has, within a very short period, regenerated our reserves from virtually zero to close to $50 billion. That is a record not witnessed in many decades. It is the product of bold reforms, careful planning, commitment and purposeful leadership,” he said.

The SGF urged members of the City Boy Movement to take the administration’s message directly to communities across the country, saying many Nigerians simply need access to accurate information about government policies and programmes.

“You have a responsibility to help tell Nigerians what this government is doing. Many people only need access to factual information. Take the message to the grassroots so that citizens can appreciate the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.

Akume stressed that effective public communication remains critical to helping Nigerians understand the rationale behind the administration’s economic and governance reforms.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, described Akume as one of President Tinubu’s most loyal allies, noting that his contributions have been instrumental to the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Earlier, the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Oluwatosin Shoga, sought closer collaboration with the Office of the SGF to expand public awareness of the administration’s achievements.

Shoga conveyed the goodwill of the movement’s patron, Seyi Tinubu, and reaffirmed the group’s commitment to promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.

According to him, the City Boy Movement has grown into one of Nigeria’s largest youth-driven political and civic mobilisation platforms, dedicated to informing, engaging and empowering young Nigerians while strengthening the relationship between government and citizens.
