World record holder Tobi Amusan has given fans a first look at her highly anticipated documentary, Homecoming: The Tobi Amusan Story, in a gripping trailer posted to Instagram.

The 100m hurdles champion opens up about her journey to the top of world athletics, including the intense battles off the track that nearly cost her everything.

In a Tuesday post, the film, which offers an in-depth view of Amusan’s rise to fame, will also spotlight her emotional fight to clear her name after a doping scandal rocked her career.

The caption on the feature-length documentary, read, “Over the past couple of years, I’ve been pouring my heart into a project that shares my journey—the highs, the struggles and everything in between.

“I’m beyond excited to finally give you a glimpse of what it’s all about with this teaser.

“This isn’t just another documentary—this is your opportunity to be part of something special”.

The trailer captures her career-defining moments, including her historic world-record run at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Oregon

Also, it shows her sombre moments during her struggle with the Athletics Integrity Unity (AIU) over anti-doping violations.

In 2023, Amusan was suspended indefinitely for “missing three tests in 12 months”. She was not cleared of the charge until June 2024, when the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) dismissed AIU’s case against her.

Fans can expect an unfiltered look into her life, showcasing both the glory and the setbacks that have defined her remarkable journey.

The release date for the documentary has yet to be announced.

Amusan showed confidence in securing a medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris after failing to do so in the previous two editions in 2016 and 2020 in Rio and Tokyo, respectively.

The Nigerian team failed to clinch a medal at the tournament.
