Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has revealed that a firm warning from her husband, fellow actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, prompted her to quit smoking cigarettes after the birth of their child.
Speaking during an appearance on The Morayo Show, Abraham described her husband as one of the greatest positive influences in her life, praising him for his support and understanding.
The actress disclosed that she was a cigarette smoker before becoming pregnant but stopped after Ajeyemi advised her that smoking was no longer appropriate during her pregnancy.
According to her, the conversation became more serious after their child was born when her husband saw her smoking during an outing.
Abraham said Ajeyemi did not react immediately at the scene but later warned her that he never wanted to see cigarette remains around their child, stressing that such behaviour would not be acceptable.
She explained that the warning became a turning point, leading her to completely stop smoking cigarettes.
Although she no longer smokes cigarettes, Abraham admitted that she still uses a vape occasionally.
The actress also spoke about her marriage, describing Ajeyemi as a supportive partner who respects her individuality and understands the demands of her acting career.
According to Abraham, her husband does not object to her taking on challenging film roles, including those involving romantic scenes, saying he is mature enough to separate her professional work from their personal relationship.
