The University of Ilorin has concluded arrangements for the resumption of academic activities on Monday, 24th October, following the suspension of the eight-month-old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU),
According to a statement by its Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the university’s Senate ratified the amended academic calendar at its 291st meeting on Friday.
The amended calendar specifies that final year and postgraduate students are expected back on campus on Monday, while other categories of returning students are to resume on 15th December when the 2021/2022 academic session commences.
Also, students of the Faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, who had not concluded their Rain Semester examinations before the ASUU strike, will resume next Monday to complete the examinations.
Akogun said that the University management assured “our returning students that adequate measures have been put in place to make the environment very conducive for them, while urging them to ensure strict compliance with the rules and regulations of the university”.
