Tension broke out at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, on Thursday after the institution moved to enforce its ban on the popular post-examination ‘signing off’ tradition among final-year students.
In a video shared by Facebook user, Okwa C. Ifugo, two yet-to-be-identified female students were sent out of the campus building premises for wearing shirts scribbled with markers.
It was reported that the university management had, on Tuesday, announced a ban on the activity in a directive signed by the Registrar, Dr. Chinenye Okeke. The circular described the practice as one that often leads to chaos, violence, and disruption of normal academic activities.
