The Ogun State chapter of the League of Veteran Journalists (LVJ) has congratulated the management and editorial board of Penpushing Media on the organisation’s eighth anniversary.
The league also commended the planning committee of the media platform’s eighth anniversary lecture, describing Penpushing Media as a credible and independent voice in Nigeria’s media landscape.
Penpushing Media is recognised as the first online newspaper to commence operations in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, a city with a long history of journalism dating back to 1859.
In a congratulatory message signed by its Chairman, Mr Dele Akinsola, and Secretary, Mr Austeen Elewodalu, the LVJ said Penpushing Media had, over the past eight years, established itself as a dependable and courageous platform committed to professional journalism.
“The Executive Committee and the entire membership of the League of Veteran Journalists (LVJ), Ogun State chapter, heartily congratulate the Founder, Management and Staff of Penpushing Media on the auspicious occasion of its eighth Anniversary Lecture,” the statement read.
The veteran journalists also praised the organisation for selecting what they described as a timely and important theme for this year’s anniversary lecture: “Restoring Electoral Integrity: The Path to Good Governance and Public Accountability.”
According to the league, the theme reflects Penpushing Media’s commitment to strengthening democracy, promoting civic participation and holding public officials accountable.
The LVJ further expressed pride in the founder of Penpushing Media, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, who also serves as the league’s Welfare and Publicity Secretary.
The organisation described his journey from the early stages of his journalism career to becoming a media entrepreneur as an inspiring example of dedication, resilience and professional excellence.
“Dimeji’s journey, rising steadily from the cradle of journalism to establishing himself as a formidable media entrepreneur, stands as an inspiring testament to dedication, resilience, and professional excellence,” the league stated.
The veteran journalists noted that Penpushing Media had continued to grow over the years, earning a reputation as a credible, dependable and courageously independent voice in the media industry.
“As you mark this eighth anniversary milestone, the League of Veteran Journalists wishes Mr Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, the management, and the entire team many more years of groundbreaking accomplishments, continuous expansion, and impactful journalism,” the statement added.
The league also wished the organisation a successful anniversary lecture and further growth in its contribution to journalism and democratic development in Nigeria.
