Henry Okoye, elder brother of former P-Square members Peter and Paul Okoye, has expressed doubts about the possibility of the estranged twins reconciling, saying their prolonged dispute may have caused lasting damage to their relationship.
Henry made the remarks during an interview with social commentator Jos Connection at the Okoye family’s residence in Plateau State on Friday, amid renewed tensions between the brothers.
Although he acknowledged Peter’s efforts to resolve the dispute, Henry said he was not confident that the twins would restore the close relationship they once shared.
He nevertheless appealed to Paul to forgive Peter, recalling the support his younger brother had reportedly provided during his illness.
‘Peter is trying. I don’t know if Jude used juju on Paul because he was the nicest person in the family before. But the way he changed is surprising,’ Henry said.
He also alleged that he and his brothers had previously agreed that he would receive 20 per cent when the family’s music business began generating income, but said Jude later intervened and rejected the arrangement.
‘They promised me 20 per cent when they start making money. Jude intervened and dismissed that. I challenged him that he wasn’t there when we started everything but now chasing everybody away from them,’ he said.
Henry said he would welcome a reunion between Peter and Paul but remained pessimistic about the prospect.
‘I will be happy for them to come back together but I don’t think it will happen. Paul was a very kind person,’ he added.
He also recalled a family dispute over money, saying Peter once directed him to Jude after the death of his wife’s father because, according to Peter, Jude was holding his money.
Henry said he had made several attempts to bring the family together, adding that businessman Shehu Dantata had also intervened without success.
‘I want all the family to come back. I have tried my best. Even Shehu Dantata spoke to them and they didn’t listen,’ he said.
He appealed to Jude to help restore unity within the family by resolving the disagreements among the siblings.
The latest comments come against the backdrop of a long-running dispute involving Peter, Paul and their elder brother, Jude, who previously managed P-Square.
The disagreement between the twins contributed to the group’s split in 2017. They reunited in 2021, prompting hopes among fans that their differences had been resolved.
The reconciliation, however, did not last. The brothers fell out again in 2024, with Peter subsequently making allegations about the management of P-Square’s finances and Jude’s involvement in the group’s affairs.
Peter alleged that another company, Northside Music Limited, had been receiving royalties belonging to P-Square and claimed that the company was linked to Jude and his wife.
Paul defended Jude and accused Peter of being responsible for the legal troubles faced by their elder brother.
In February 2025, Paul said he was supporting Jude because he believed Jude knew the truth about the dispute and accused Peter of putting their elder brother through the legal ordeal.
Jude was subsequently arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations involving N1.38 billion, $1 million and £34,537.59. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Peter later testified against Jude, alleging that the former P-Square manager secretly incorporated Northside Music Limited and used the company to collect royalties belonging to the group.
The financial dispute remains before the courts. During cross-examination in February 2026, Peter admitted that he was a co-signatory to a Northside Entertainment Limited account, contradicting an earlier position that Jude was the sole signatory.
The disagreement has continued to play out publicly, with Peter and Paul making opposing claims about their relationship and Jude’s role in the events surrounding P-Square’s repeated break-up.
Henry’s latest intervention is the latest appeal from within the Okoye family for the brothers to settle their differences.
Despite his doubts about a reconciliation, Henry said he wanted the family to reunite and urged his siblings to forgive one another and move beyond the prolonged dispute.
